Solution: “This application has failed to start because CoreFoundation.dll was not found”

Posted by: mynag In: Solutions & Tips|Windows

Symptons:

Every time your computer start up, an annoying error dialog box will prompt you with the following text:

“This application has failed to start because CoreFoundation.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”

This can occur if you have uninstalled Apple Mobile Device Support or Apple Application Support from your computer.

Solution

As far as I have experienced, uninstalling and re-installing itunes will not resolve this issue. So, the here’s what you do:

  1. Go to the Control Panel and in the Add/Remove Programs (for Windows XP and below ) or Uninstall Program (for Windows Vista/7)
  2. Scroll to the program “MobileMe” and click Uninstall to remove the program. The next boot up, you shouldn’t be seeing anymore error dialog box as shown previously.
