At first, I thought my computer was possessed or I was in some kind of Twilight Zone, my volume would strangely lowered itself automatically or maybe this is a new feature introduced in Windows 7 to telepathically reduce your volume using your brain waves.

If you are new to Windows 7, it is actually a new feature that allows volumes of other application such as Youtube videos to be lowered automatically when you are making a Skype voice call or making a Messenger Voice call. However, unexpectedly, it could even happen while you are playing computer games and if that is annoying to you, you can disable it.

Turning off Automatic Volume Control in Windows 7

1. Open Control Panel
2. Click on <Hardware and Sound>
3. Click on <Sound>
4. Click on the tab <Communications>
5. Click and Select <Do nothing>
6. Click <OK> button to save the settings.
